Environmental Site Assessments

Phase I Environmental Site Assessments

Plumley Engineering has performed over 500 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for real estate buyers and other concerned parties.  These inspections and reports are performed in substantial conformance with the current ASTM E‑1527 standard.

Because each report is customized to the specific property in question, we sometimes vary from that standard as good engineering judgement dictates.  Ours are not “cookie-cutter” reports.

Facilities investigated have included:

Vacant Land

Manufacturing

Food Processing

Office Buildings

Warehousing

Schools

Apartment Complexes

Truck/Bus Terminals

Auto Dealerships

Auto Parts and Repair Shops

Gas Stations

Scrap Yards

Rail Facilities

Miscellaneous Retail Establishments

Phase II Environmental Site Assessments

Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) are invasive studies of a contaminated (or suspected contaminated) property.  Typically, soil borings are completed to below the water table, wells installed and soil and groundwater samples collected and analyzed in a laboratory.

The results provide a 3-dimensional snapshot of the nature of underground contamination, if any.

We have performed around 250 subsurface contamination investigations, providing owners and buyers valuable information critical to their decision making process with regard to the future of the property.

Due to the sensitive nature of these studies, we are not listing representative client names, but the entities we work for include:

Agriculture

Commercial Building Contractors

Furniture Manufacturing

Printing and Publishing Companies

Primary Metal Industries

Secondary Smelting and Refining Companies

Non-Ferrous and Wire Manufacturing
